Did you know... ?

The raw material for petroleum jelly was discovered in 1859 in Pennsylvania. The wax-like stuff was forming on drill rigs, causing them to break down. But when workers found it helped heal their cuts and burns, an enterprising chemist went to check it out. Robert Chesebrough produced the first Vaseline® in 1870.
